TARAN + DREW FINDLING

This Athens, Georgia winter wedding will forever hold a special place in my heart! It’s no secret that I love Taran and Drew a crazy amount and then some. They’re two of our best friends. From their precious rainy day engagement session, to their Athens, Georgia wedding, it was the largest honor to be trusted with documenting their memories.

Taran and Drew met in high school, but didn’t start dating until college. She was in grad school and he was taking a victory lap at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs forever and ever, amen) when their love story started, so it was only fitting for them to get married where it all began.

Taran is the owner of an incredible floral design shop, Taran M. Florals. She designed and built every floral for their wedding. When I got to The Hoyt House, she was already in her element — sitting on the floor in adorable pajamas, surrounded by greenery and flowers, building boutonnières. She was calm, laughing, and surrounded by her lifelong best friends. Absolute perfection.

Drew was also as calm and ready as ever. He’s a big fan of craft beer and runs the Instagram account @hop_culture. He and his groomsmen, some who’ve been friends since elementary school, were hanging out drinking craft brews, eating bagels, and playing with the Findling fur children, Cash and Stevie. Again, absolute perfection!

The entire day was completely representative of who they are as a couple — intentional, present, and filled with joyful love. From their wedding portraits on University of Georgia’s North Campus, to spending an hour chilling with their fur babies before the reception started, every detail was fully them.

Oh, and this reception was unreal! One of the best parts? Taran and all of her bridesmaids got on stage with the band for Proud Mary…YAAASSSS MY QUEENS! Scroll down and don’t miss it, because it was EVERYTHING.
