Taran + Drew | Rainy Day Engagement Session | Marietta, GA
Rainy Marietta, Georgia Engagement Session
If you follow my Instagram, you’ve seen a few sneaky peeks of this engagement session. And you also know, it’s no secret that I’m a big ole fan of Taran and Drew. I’ve known Taran since high school, and they’re two of our very best friends. No surprise here, but I was dead, shooketh to the core, and screaming “yaassss QUEEN!!” at the top of my lungs for their entire rainy day engagement session.
Most couples are not #teamrain for their photos. That’s EXACTLY what Taran and Drew were hoping for for their engagement photos. Georgia has basically been one giant puddle lately, so we waited for a forecast full of rain, and picked a perfectly gloomy morning. They wanted their photos to showcase them and the home they recently bought together — a 1960s ranch near the Square in Marietta, Georgia. One of their favorite parts about its history? The family before them lived in the home for 50 years.
Now, every piece of their new-to-them home and land are a reflection of who they are — vintage, classic, intentional, and inviting. It’s surrounded by growth and greenery — perfect for Taran who is a florist and often curates her work by scavenging her surrounds (spoiler alert: she’s out of this world talented. Check her work out here). They’re renovating it with the help of family and friends. Drew and Taran’s dad built the fence together that surrounds the perfect backyard for their rescue fur babies. The tall tree in the front has a red swing hanging from it’s biggest branch. It’s like an old soul that has seen kiddos laughing and playing under its shade for decades.
So here they are, a month before their wedding, laughing in the rain, dancing to Beyonce in their front yard while the local school bus passes by, and snuggling their pups on their front porch steps.
The laughter below brought to you by this exchange…
Me: “Drew, tell Taran your funniest joke.”
Drew: “I pooped while Amanda was here in our house.”
Taran: “Drew! That’s not a joke, that’s a fact!”
