Couples Session in the North Georgia Mountains

Liz and Josh love hiking and enjoying the outdoors together, so for their couples session, we headed to the North Georgia Mountains to shoot on a piece of the Appalachian Trail. Their love story began when they met in Athens, Georgia as students at the University of Georgia. I’m very biased because I’m also alumni, but it’s one of the greatest places in the world for a love story to start IMHO. Go Dawgs forever, y’all. On the drive up, they told me all about their wedding day (of course, in Athens, where it all began), and how much they’re looking forward to marriage #swoon. They are also new homeowners, and so are we, so we laughed about all the adulting we have going on recently.

Once we hopped out of the car, we booked it up the trail in near record time. Not because we are ambitious trail hikers, but because it was so cold and windy that it was the only way to stay warm! haha! Our legs and knees were feeling the burn, and our faces were feeling the *wind* burn. In early November in Georgia, we knew this couples session would be full of gorgeous fall leaves, but we definitely didn’t dress for the 30 degree day. My yoga pants were about as thin as an off-brand tissue and I don’t think any of us remembered to bring a coat. Cue all of us dying laughing over numb fingers, frozen noses, and a backless dress on the coldest fall day yet.

I couldn’t have asked for a better couple for this one, because in any situation, they radiate positive vibes, tear-inducing laughter, and big love for each other. 85% of our conversations centered around our fur children as we hiked, and I’m here for that always.

Their wedding is in a few weeks, so here’s to the almost Lowerys! Can’t wait to celebrate the heck out of your day!
